Welcome to the Greentree Pediatric Dentistry family. We understand that you’ve put your trust in us to care for your child’s oral health, and we don’t take that lightly. We’ve found that the more familiar an anxious child is with the people, places, and things involved in their appointment, the more likely they are to have confidence in the process. This is important because it helps build trust and will put your child at ease for future appointments. Here’s what you and your child can expect from your first visit to GPD:
Dr. Pratt and her team will meet your child for the first time in our unique care room. This room is special because it gives your child a chance to get to know Dr. Pratt in a less stressful environment. Here your child will be introduced to all the tools we use to keep teeth healthy. Sometimes we complete the dental exam right here on mom or dad’s lap. However, if your child is comfortable, they will get a tour of the office as we move to a dental chair for the rest of their appointment.
Dr. Pratt will perform a comprehensive oral exam and then determine if x-rays are required, depending on your child’s age and diagnostic needs. We understand that this process can cause anxiety in some children and are happy to work with both you and your child to ensure a calm, comfortable experience.
After the exam, our team will conduct a thorough teeth cleaning to restore your child’s most radiant smile!
